Need Online Help Writer

I know of a company in Cambridge that is looking for an online help  writer (contract position). They are asking for 3 years of experience writing online help and strong knowledge of robohelp. Email me for more details.

Request for Info

Also, I am looking for a part-time (contract or permanent) tech writing work (non-online help job).   My daughter is 16 months old and  I don't want to work full-time yet, but I'm ready for part-time. If anyone knows the names of documentation managers at any companies, whether you work there or not, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. I don't have to mention where the info came from ;-). I want to be able to contact hiring managers directly (even if they are not hiring right now), instead of sending resumes into black holes (which would be interesting if you're conducting an astronomical experiment, but sucks when you are job hunting).

Thanks,

Lisa

xKenan Folks,

As some of you may know I am the President of an enterprise software company named REAL Software Systems (RSS) which has operations in Los Angeles and Cambridge. Currently, the primary location for Consulting, Support, and Development is in Los Angeles. RSS has been in existence for 10 years and provides enterprise class Partner Relationship Management (PRM) solutions used to manage the financial commitments of intellectual property licensing agreements. RSS has successfully deployed its products to manage royalties, profit participations, and other partner settlement models utilized by companies in Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, and High Tech. RSS has an impressive culture, customer list, and market opportunity. Some of the drivers for growth include the growing focus on corporate governance, the convergence of media, and the efficiencies of licensing intellectual property as compared with original R&D.

We will be filling the following roles during the next few months. If you are interested in the roles below or know someone who might be please either email your resume to me or to recruiting@realsoftwaresystems.com. Please make sure to indicate which role(s) you are interested in and, in the case of Project Consulting, in which location.

  • Customer Support (Los Angeles)
  • Project Consulting (Los Angeles, Cambridge)
  • Technical Consulting/Software Configuration (Los Angeles)
  • Software Development (Los Angeles)

Please feel welcome to give me a call to discuss these roles at (818) 313-8008.

Kent Sahin signing in for an update:

I am now running an enterprise software company named REAL Software Systems.  The company has been around in different forms for 9 years.  I started as President in July and have relocated to Los Angeles, CA where the bulk of the company is located.  We also have a growing sales and service office in Kendall Square.  RSS has a fantastic team, culture and future!

RSS develops and sells enterprise software products which are used by 20 companies focusing on Media Distribution, Life Sciences, or Technical Innovation.   Our products enable our customers to automate the processing and management of the financial reconciliation required by most intellectual property license agreements.  This function is commonly referred to as royalty management or profit participation management.  Many of our customers consider our products to be their strategic platform for the financial management of content and innovation partnerships.  We are the only company with a product solution extensible across multiple industries.  Our competition chose to build vertical applications.  The on-going convergence in each of our focus markets is a key factor influencing our success (sound familiar?).   Also, as companies focus on new sources of revenue and accounting transparency they are fast tracking the development of best practices in intellectual property financial management.

You can take a look at our web site at www.realsoftwaresystems.com .

We have a few development positions open in Los Angeles.  For those willing to relocate I can assure you that LA is one fantastic place to live and work.   Candidates should have at least two years of PowerBuilder experience.  Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PVCS, Microsoft Excel, InstallShield, and Actuate are a plus.  Please send resumes to:    recruiting@realsoftwaresystems.com

Hey everybody. I'm currently working on an Arbor site in New Zealand as a contractor, and someone here raised an interesting trivia question. Does anyone know what 'RAP' means? We know what it does, of course, but does the acronym stand for anything? Any insight would be much appreciated. Cheers, Caroline

Anyone ever have trouble actually getting their status to "terminated" after quitting Kenan/Lucent? I'm having a huge problem getting them to admit that I'm terminated..for some reason, they love me so much, they've decided to make it a huge pain in the ass to quit! Anyway, if anyone has had this problem, or problems with the LRIP, contact me and let me know. I may be contacting the attorney general's office since they've been giving me the runaround at "Lucent HR".
